Writing assignment from the Portfolio Synposium lineup

This was my writing assignment. Hearing directly from them gave me more inspiration to continue what I do.

"Being there and listening to what the artists are saying makes me realize that it takes a lot of hard work and knowledge to do what we want to do in the future. I spoke to a industrial atuomobile designer and an architectural designer and i am amazed by the work already done around us. I was looking through the architectural designing portfolio and i was amazed to have been there at least in one of the designed building. All the information and images they showed to us was pretty nice and crazy good.

I have been thinking about my career a lot and its been about the same thing: finishing college, getting a Bachelor's Degree, designing cars, and making a good living. By just being here at MIAD, i have begun to think if there was anything else i want to do besides automobile design and if architecture design would suit me best. But for sure i am still staying in the design area. I haven't thought farther than that and doing it will take some time since I am a bit lazy and busy.

Unfortunately I did not make any further research on any of the artist becuase I have been busy with hmwk. I believe I have heard and seen enough from the artists themself. Their information is good enough for me to think about it. Further research is unesscary for me right now. All i need to do is think and decide. I'm thinking right now and deciding will take a bit. I hope everything works out in the end."

Muzik

I would probably go crazy without music. I love R&B, techno, trance, rap, hip hop, and some country. Music motivates me to move further on. It helps me run another mile. It fills my ears with the beautiful mix of voice and sounds. I like to do a lot of things that are not related to making art like dancing. I love dancing but unfortunately it is too hard. Music to me makes the world a little bit less boring. here is a music video that has been inspiring me all these years to keep my dancing dream alive.

How does art get done?

I was rereading the article name Art and Fear and I was connected to this phrase: how does art get done? Well if you think about it, everything around us and the things we make is never a finished piece. If everything were completely successful, completely finished, what would we do next?

Here is something i drew on my arm while voluntarily face painting for a event at the John Micheal Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The event has a lot of artist bringing in their own work and selling them to the public. It was a great event. While face painting, i painted Avatar the airbender on my arm and i copied the image from the Internet. To me, this was complete becuase I was satisfied with it. I liked it the way it was. I could do more, but I didn't want to.

Shinique Smith's piece name Floaty

I have to say that the trip to Madison was great. Maybe it was the long ride in the coach itself that felt better than being there at the museum. I always love riding buses, especially coach buses because it brings me memories during high school where i was in a pre-college program where we went to field trips in all kinds of buses. It was great. Back to the artist name Shinique Smith, i thought her pieces were creative and wild. her pieces does not seem to be specific or in a way she kind of lets the audience imagine what her pieces mean. I think most of her pieces were good and meaningful while some are not so much. Here is one of her piece name Floaty that i thought was good. It reminded me of some sort of Japanese animation design from Studio Ghibli's film productions.

You will be amazed!

I was amazed to have watch this video. I still can't believe this is all real and all have been done by actual people with talent. The song adds a good touch to the awesome-ness. Please watch this video.

Inspiration

So many things inspired me that even humor inspires me like the image i found. i love this image and i love star wars. The technology or fantasy involved in star wars intrigues me and motivates me to think more of design.

Super Sprayer

I found this video of this guy spray painting. At first, i thought he was just fooling around. Having watched the rest of the video, i feel like he just did a magic trick and i feel very tricked. I have never worked with spray paints before and this guy makes me feel like I want that experience. Check out this video!

More cars

I love cars and music. Mixing these together got this video i found while stumbling. It's pretty nice and full of good beats!

Another Tony ousler piece

This looks like a frog to me with human features. I just like how the eyes move seperately and how the noises it makes are wierd. Lets play it agian!
